Start with the 3D files... 

 

Printed the Chassis as one part including the mirrors. 

 

 

The mirror arms are very fragile, I'm glad I don't have to glue them on afterwards. 

 

Some details on the front wing. 

 

 

The individual wing elements on the rear wing. I subsequently reopened the slots between the elements with an Engraving Blade 0.15. 

 

 

Some sanding work on the chassis part. The side camera will be reworked in some of the next steps. 

 

 

 

Rear parts... Wheel - Rim - Brake 

 

All parts have now been printed, largely released from the support and reworked. The floor plate is still missing. It is printed in one piece together with the bardge boards. 

A user in another forum pointed out to me that the rear rims are not very detailed and said that the bulges on the rims were missing. So I looked at it again and I have to agree with him. So I adjusted the model again and added the bulges. 

So that's the print result... I think it's turned out well and definitely better than before. 

 

 

 

After a few discussions with various model construction colleagues and the good help of an Italian friend, we decided to fundamentally revise the model again and adapt it to the Monaco GP, or to introduce many new details. 

 

Additional wing elements on the rear end of the floor. 

 

 

Attaching the beads between the cladding elements of the whole body. 

Removeable headrest system. 

Change of the T-wing elements and adaptation of the exhaust system. 

 

New detailed front and rear breaks on the suspensions. 

Rear Wing old-new - updated parts - thinned wing elements and DRS mechanic. 

 

 

 

Front Wing old-new - updated parts - Nose opening, additional bottom wing elements, panel lining, right nose combination with camera wings and mounting system. 

 

 

 

 

T-Wing old-new - updated parts to recreate the Monaco version. 

 

 

Rear suspension old-new - updated parts with more details and real brake system and recreated also the Monaco version.

The accuracy of fit seems to be very good, all parts fit straight away. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Floor plate finished. 

The badge board elements are the hell. I need hours to bend them into shape while it cured because they kept making waves! Printing them one by one would have been a better option.

I also created a little gimmick for the car - #3 board of Lando Norris. The foot of the board is a 2-part 3D printed part. The sheet metal is 0.1mm brass. It will be painted black and then gets decals on both sides. 

 

 

I thought about the antennas in the nose area and will recreate them with nickel silver. 

Since there should also be a detailed seat, I had to copy again at Sparco. I designed new adjusters and buckels. This time in 2 parts, so that you can slide in the belt elements if you want. The adjusters are a little different from Sabelt and have a loop on one eyelet. I will recreate this with simple colored tape. The straps will get decals again later...
I drilled a hole in the seat, which also gets its decals (I hadn't planned one, but it turns out differently than you think - since I've only now found a few good photos). But basically that's not an issue and it's Scratch... and modeling is just modeling. The two loops that are passed through the other 4 belt elements come through the hole. 

 

 

 

And because you always have to test your limits, I tested something... and it worked! 

 

Assembled condition, only the decals are missing... 

 

 

 

 

Decals for 1st test arrived today. I am very happy with the first impression. Everything looks very good, no mistakes can be seen at first glance. 

 

 

I really wanted to bring a little update to the kit... and it didn't turn out bad for such a graceful part.
I will leave it that way. I have used Ø0.4mm brass rod.
