Abandoned BTR

This is another of my many ongoing/stalled projects. Started back in September 2018, originally as an OoB build, but has morphed multiple times since. Finally decided it will be an abandoned wreck in a Pripyat type environment. Base is also part way finish, but will need to be fully sorted before the vehicle for what I know have in mind.

First attempt at adding moss. Still a lot to add, but I'm not planning on total cover.. at least not just yet. The moss is a Gauge master railway flock secured with sand and gravel fixer. The first "coat" dried a bit proud so I hit again with the fixer and whilst still wet pressed a flat tool over it Ro compact it some more. Happy with the result. Any comments/suggestions graciously welcomed.
Aim to finish this one over the Christmas Holidays.

I was going to ask you what you use for the moss - it's very effective.

Hi, yeah I tried the AK moss texture stuff but wasn't sold on it. The texture is OK but colour was way too dark to my eyes. Saw this flock in a local Railways shop and decided to give it a go.

Looks like a simple carwash will not deal with the topic at hand...😉 Great idea & a very nice looking derelict vehicle!

Starting on the base: a pine plaque with a hardstanding created with AK concrete paste. The colour want quite right so I sponged some Woodlands scenic acrylic over it.. mu h better look. Next up be some wet/scrubland.

More progress on the base. Some resin stumps and a rotting carcase to add to the general sense of decay... Base coat of dark earth and then off with the masking. Schoolboy mistake.... Straight edge between mud and concrete.. DOH! Once the base coat has sufficiently dried I'll get to work on that.

Time to start on the figure. Evolution miniatures stalker type. Nice quality so hopefully can do it justice.

Getting Feel for figure placement. He's painted in a Vallejo yellow but does blend in quite well with the moss, a lucky accident.

Realised I need to get moss and leaf litter under the BTR.. That should be fun as it's secured to the base????
