Panzer 87 WE

Here it is, my latest project: Swiss Panzer 87 WE.
Due to lack of time, the project was built over the last 2-3 months on weekends.
Base model (green plastic) is the Leopard 2A4 from Revell. Sand and black colored plastic are spare parts from MENG Leopard 2A4 and A7/A7+. The turret is also from MENG Leo 2A4. Left over from the Leopard 2 Marksman project. I will post the pictures next week because the turret is not completely finished yet. The gray colored parts are my own 3D drawn and printed parts.
The project was fun, even if I was a bit desperate at the beginning because of the Revell model. Reference-wise it was a disaster, but I caused it myself. I started the project with the thought: "It's just another Leopard 2A4". This caused me some difficulties later on. We will come to that in a moment.
During the construction of the hull it became obvious that the model has too few and soft details. I tried to compensate this with parts from MENG and Tamiya models from the spare parts box. After the hull was finished, the anti-slip coating had to be removed. First, the layout was in the earlier version and second, I wanted the coating on the hull and turret to be the same. Some details had to be removed because they are not present in the Swiss version. During the construction of the front there was already the first difficulty: additional marker lights with a different guard. These were then drawn in 3D and printed. When building the engine deck, the second difficulty came to light: The Swiss version has other tools and these are also arranged differently. So again 3D drawing and printing. While I was at it, I drew some variants of the padlocks for the side hatches. The mufflers are from EuroModel Productions. For my model these had to be slightly modified. The rear camera was also drawn in 3d and printed out.
Turret is almost finished, only 2-3 parts need to be added. I will post the photos of the complete model next weekend.

As promised, here is the turret of the Panzer 87 WE. As already mentioned in the first part, it is the Leo 2A4 turret from MENG. Surprisingly, it fits perfectly on the hull of the Revell Leopard 2. Gun and PE are from Voyager. PERI is from the Leo 2A4 CAN Detailing set from Legend Productions. Gray parts are 3D printed. The traditional scratchbuild is also included. I would call it 99% finished, only the MG and the mount are missing. I am in the process of drawing this in 3D. Let's see if I succeed.

You welcome mate. I had the same problem back then. Couldn't find anything and the Leopard 2 kit from Italeri was the only choice. Since I am a Leopard maniac anyway, I got this one too.
