I'm not sure if it's because I see too many Spitfires with super green cockpits or if this color is too grey, but I'm not sure it looks right. Maybe it's the lighting and it'll look better with some oils to tone it down a bit and fade it?

I like it, it has an authentic darkish drab look about it.
Some cockpits look too bright & toylike in the lighter greens.

Thanks Roland! I'm going to roll with it. I can always add some green oil filter on it to tint it a bit. And it gets not just an engine, but REAL MERLIN SOUND synced with the engine!!! Check it out: Youtube Video

This is looking great and I love the electronics. On the cockpit green - I read a great article about the colour used and basically it's pretty hard to find two cockpits that match in real life. Colour tones were quite different from a vibrant green to a yellowish green. I think the oil filters will do a great job.

This project suffered a major setback, but I've got a vision and so I'm pressing on... sort of. I had the base green laid down and then added some masking stickers to get the camo right. I applied them and removed them to see if there'd be a problem pulling paint and tests seemed okay. Leaving it overnight may have been the issue because when I got around to painting the dark earth and removing the masks I lost a lot of paint (but gained a lot of sticky gunk, yay). I tried removing the paint & gunk, but I wasn't able to get it off to my satisfaction, so I'm chalking it up to lessons learned and starting with a fresh kit. The decision came when I realized it'd become a chore instead of fun. Extreme, maybe, but I've got a test model to work with now plus all I learned during the first go around.
