F-15E D-Day COMPLETED

Started on this, was waiting for belts to get here, got going on the F-84. So now waiting on masks for that, wrapped up the pit for this one. Great details, especially considering its 1/72, but the seats, blah. Two molded in straps that went like halfway down the back rest. Looked like crap.

Did you know there arent any just 1/72 seat belt sets out there? At least that I could find. This set is for the F-35, but I figured it was better than nothing. And really, who would know if I didnt say? LOL

Looks great! I built the Academy version earlier this tear. It will be interesting to see the differences.

I have to say, I much prefer this one over their 1/48 kit. This thing is practically falling together. Tomorrow mask the clear parts and get to painting. Then the engines.

Built up and sprayed black. I used semi gloss on the rear for the alclad that will go there. Exhausts done as well but not pictured. All drying until tomorrow.

And its gray and has some stripes! LOL Gonna paint the red on the tail fins and the anti glare. Didn't like how the decals were looking.

All the stripes on. Just gotta paint the weapons rail to match. Glare shield and tail fins sprayed. I HATE RED PAINT. Just sayin.

Weapons racks striped. Most of the decals on. Just the landing gear, antenna, and canopy stuff to do and it'll be done. So last pics until it's finished.

You might want to check out the famous pink primer that is in fashion lately.
In case of my Panther it really helped with red & yellow colours.

And she is done. This kit is WAAAAYYYYY better than their 1/48 IMO. Easy build, great detail. Decals were easy to use, though they have WAY too much carrier film on the stencils. They tried placing multiple stencils as a group and it just makes it look like junk. You gotta cut them to singles or smaller groups. Thats the only real drawback.

I did manage to ping one of the "bug" antennae (the ones on the nose that point forward and look like something on a bug) into the ether. Thankfully I have another GWH 15 in 1/72. The C MSIP. So Now THAT kit is missing one. Future me can deal with it. LOL
