In brightest day, in blackest Night ,
No Evil shall escape my sight!
Let those who worship evil's might
Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!

Ok, so I'm guilty of starting yet another project, while others fall into various stages of completion. I have to do it, otherwise I suffer from burn out when I hit a wall with a build. It take me an inordinate amount of time in the planning stages to try and avoid making mistakes. There's still so much to learn.. This is the largest figure I have attempted and fortunately it's a fairly simple paint scheme. If all goes according to plan, I will try to add some lighting effects..?

I think I'm going to start using Pledge from now on airbrushing all types of acrylics, regardless of the final sheen desired. It is a great flow improver, mixes well with water, is easy to cleanup, delays needle drying, is self leveling, and the sheen is easily toned down or up, but please use a respirator, and don't breathe in the pleasant smelling toxic floor polish ??

Cool, I really like comic figures
Yep, Future/Pledge is quite a good thinner, another one, which is also quite inexpensive is the stuff you smear onto walls to make a better base, here it is called "Acryl Tiefengrund" which would translate into "acylic deep ground". At my corner of the planet it is available at construction/DIY markets; Home Depod would be one in the US I think.

I switched gears to work on the base. I'm not sure if there's a backstory or not, but I'm imagining this event took place on Mars ?

Thanks Torsten! Things are going well with this one, I'm having fun ??
I wrestled with the idea of using fluorescent orange as the final highlight here on the base, but I didn't think the ground should be glowing, but more realistic (in a comic book sense) maybe that was a mistake, and could have been even more awesome..?(to me, that is)

I know right? I was surprised to see so much light coming from a single led, I thought it would take several, but the fluorescent green paint made such a difference! I'll have to add a larger resistor to bring the brightness down. I also added a color changing led to the robot's chest, stay tuned.

I added a bit of detail from my bin of Greeblies to create a light diffuser, and now I think it looks more like a particle beam weapon ?

First attempt casting a part with Blue stuff and UV resin, with mixed results.. My idea here is to cast the nameplate in clear in order to make it glow, and also become the power button .. once again my reach far exceeds my grasp..

Pic 34 looks like a plectrum but i believe that is too obvious. Now you made me curious. 😄

Plectrum is correct! Bonus points for not calling it a guitar pick! ? it's useful as a sculpting tool.

Here's an update, my glossiest finish yet. I'll let it dry a couple of days and pray the tape comes off cleanly.

Report: The tape didn't come off completely clean, revealing our humble narrator's embarrassing and pitiful mistakes... too shameful and humiliating even to post. Having to retreat back into His laboratory for further study, our Hero vows to succeed..

Album info
Sworn to preserve intergalactic order, the Green Lantern Corps has existed for centuries. Its newest recruit, Hal Jordan, is the first human to join the ranks. The Green Lanterns have little regard for humans, who have thus far been unable to harness the powers of the ring each member wears. But Jordan, a gifted and cocky test pilot, may be the corps' only hope when a new enemy called Parallax threatens the universal balance of power.
