May 11, 2023That's it for today. After building the SF3D A.F.S. and RAPTOR kits fairly straight from the box, I'm replacing the joints with wire and sculpting the fabric protective covering. It'll be in a fixed pose. Not sure if I'll build it as in flight or landed yet though. I have a cool idea for a little diorama.26

May 12, 2023Today I've been mostly sanding. Newest member of the Flying chamber pots is getting there. It really does look like a Toilet and Cistern lol. These older kits are slightly bigger, and and have nicer details than the newest snap fit kits. This is old school modelling. Forty years worth of experience, to spend a whole day sanding.39

October 7, 20231/20 WAVE, NITTO and Modelkasten S.A.F.S Space Type FIREBALL SG. Joints drying after sculpting from putty. I went for a legs apart, relaxed gibbon stance, it can scratch its knees now lol. Also added a big lump of putty in its lower chest cavity, for better weight distribution, after changing its centre of gravity. All parts can be removed for painting later. Looking good for a twenty year old altered kit, some parts moulds date back to the mid 1980s. This is much more fun than the snap fit modern kits.58

October 9, 2023Quite a big update. That's it for today. Slowly finishing and adding parts. Tomorrow I'll finish off the arms and pauldron armour. So far a very enjoyable build experience. Can't help myself from weathering as I go, probably my worst trait, as I haven't even added decals yet. Then my favourite part, weathering and decals.69

October 11, 20231/20 WAVE, NITTO and Modelkasten S.A.F.S Space Type FIREBALL SG,
"Flft Subaro Omagii, Orange R2 "d2" of the 3rd Flying Chamber Pot Lunar Defence Squadron, this particular suit took a considerable amount of damage in defence of the Luna StarOne Outpost located at Mare Imerium, Sea of Showers"
Rescuplted all joints on this older kit, although it now seems to be standing in a T-Bag stance lol ? I like to think it's bracing before take off.
Last of my old school NITTO suits, only new snap fit kits left to build, and large vehicles.
Learning new things all the time.
All in all though a fun build.91
