1/144 Finemolds Millennium Falcon

 

Time, to start on something I've been sitting on for fifteen years. Empire Strikes Back Millennium Falcon 1/144 Finemold kit. Means I get to spend time looking at 1,500 reference photos in my archive. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rough as old balls at the moment, but this is just the first layers of ESB Falcon colour. That's me done for today though. Time to rest my old back up. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Slowly building up the warm creamy grey. Lots and lots of thin layers, slightly darker taupe wash, then more thin layers. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beginnings of colour blocking, weathering and streaking, blast marks. Not too bad, as it's the Finemolds old 1/144 kit, it isn't super accurate, but for practice, it'll do. One day I'll get a Bandai, and maybe even build my 1/43 Deagostini 36" one.
