I knew the rocket nozzles were a little anemic on this kit, so I printed some upgrades. These are replicas of the Raptor engine used on SpaceX rockets. 

Burt iron effect. I would later redo these in alclad duraluminum and inks for the burnt effect. Much more vibrant. 

I wanted a baseball backstop, found some mesh that was pretty close to scale. 

How to make realistic dents from backswings and passed balls? 

Easy, just shoot it with a pellet gun. 

Replacement lens part modeled in 3d and printed in transparent resin. The kit comes with a lamp to fit in the lens, but I thought we could do better. Why not have it as a strike zone display? The printed part has a channel that the ends of fiberoptic fit into. 

 

Test shot. Final uses a white light instead. 

 

 

Eddie Amsel got some modifications too. The bat is a 3d print, and I cut off his hand with the fishing pole in it and resculpted it around the bat. Custom decals so he could wear his favorite jersey.
