Nice. Are the containers color coded in the paint guide?
Presumably they have to be, if the decals are going to match the colors, or risk a white decal on a white container for example.

Well, the thing is; The Revell kit comes 100 % in Hapag Llyod branding. That means ALL containers are orange and with a Hapag Lloyd logo. To make it look realistic you have to mode them. I made myself a handy chart with which container color goes where (and which logo goes where). It's a bit of an effort at first, but helps a lot in the long run. The decals I got custom printed!

Max capacity is 8235 TEU. With these ships approx 50% was above deck. My guess is 3800-4000 TEU above deck.
Revell did a lot of 40' containers, so I think 2400?

ThomasW.: Die Acrylhaube ist von www.polymehr.com. Ist zwar ein wenig teuer, aber wirklich 1A Qualität. Das Wasser ist ein Digitaldruck den ich mir separat gekauft und unten auf die Base geklebt habe.

So there is also aftermarket photo etch for this kit. I wonder, anything to point out regarding the use of photo etch on your project? 🙂

I have the photo etch product already, but not the boat. 😄

Yeah, some tips: Prime and paint your photo etch parts BEFORE assembly. I had a really, really hard time painting the deck of the bridge green, because I already glued the PE in place. 🙁 Unfortunately, if you paint first and then glue, you've got to be very careful with the CA glue, because it could ruin the paint. Maybe PVA glue will hold.

Also prepare for a world of pain, those PE are tiny and flimsy. 😄

I considered this kit rather dull, but all the extra effort you put into it, turned it into a real showstopper. PE, decals, paint job, all very well done.

@Daniel E: ich mach sowas auch gerne mit einem Pigmentstift (z.B. Staedtler Pigment Liner 0,2 mm oder Sakura 0,5 mm Gelly Roll oder Faber Castell etc. gibts in Schwarz, weiß, rot und noch paar andere
