Wait a minute... Doc, are you telling me you built a time machine out of a Delorean?

At first glance it seems fairly basic, but upon further inspection... 

 

Vallejo black primer  

Vallejo Air 50% neutral grey, 50% Luftwaffe uniform grey, for that bluesh grey. 

I’ll have to fill this in.. 

First time using Perfect Plastic Putty  

 

First time Experimenting with mold making using the blue stuff.  

First try casting with JB weld epoxy.. lots of bubbles

My humble attempt at scratch building, the gearshift knob is a sewing pin head, the time circuit handle is the tag from a t-shirt, and a piece of clear acetate. 😛 

Experimenting with fluorescents, will it work?

More inspired scratch building using random kitbashed tank parts.

I should note here, that, using blue stuff, I cast a panel from the back wall near the flux capacitor, and added it next to the time circuits, center console. Also, if you look close, there’s a power button from a circuit board next to it. 😉 

Lots of CA glue.. 

 

The coolant pipes are made from bass guitar strings.. not a media I recommend using, but it’s what I had. 

The base coat is Testors metallic silver enamel, and the black is Vallejo acrylic black primer. I do not recommend the blue painter’s tape, it has way too much tact for fine details. 

Trying liquid masking a.k.a latex rubber. Works well, but this brand has a viscous capillary action that likes to seep and cling to everything. The trick is to dilute it with water, and experiment first. 😉 

Tamiya tape is now my go to tape, but I don’t like the dispenser.
