Housing for the 30mm guns..  

just replaced the handles, not really a necessity 

Construction far from complete, but despite the sidewalls being composed of a lot of parts (4-6 each side...)  

dryfit is.... perfect 

really perfect... 

a new brand for an attempt to make the slat-armor 

The jig is a great help... 

and first one ready 

second one to... due to it being slanted, it didn't fit in the jig, but it worked... 

still a lot to solder... 

these buggers almost got the best of me, but finally I succeeded... 

only the spacerbars to add 

parts for 1 off the headlights.... 

 

for the final pieces of the slat-armor, I've found that apply a little bit of solder to the connection points worked best. 

the last one... 

still moveable... on to the coneection points to the frame... 

copper rod from a coil is insulated, so after burning this away you have a black rod. This clearcoat prevents easy soldering 

which is easy to clean up 

ready to use, just applied tin and flux 

to make the hinges for the slat-armor, just present the wire through the holes 

add a little flux to the soldering points 

prepare some tine bits of solder 

present them to the soldering points to 

and just heat it up for a short time... 

then cut off the excess... fully workable hinge... 

support brackets for the slat armor 

and drivers/gunners hatches have some spaced armor to 

started removing the originale casted slat armor, to be honest, it doesn't really need replacement

and fits like a glove 

Tried mounting the brackets first, and then the upper pieces... very fiddly and unsatisfying. So the top is soldered as one piece, bottom parts still loose 

and on the model...  

added some wire to the scope

and all armor into place... ready for paint... 

First paint with AK... Too pale
