AREA 88 : Kamikaze (A6M2b Zero)

Cute little packaging  

The details on the sprues are very nice... almost Sweet! 

Cockpit painted green, fuselage halves glued together and engine/motor drilled out and installed. 

Motor installed. 

Pilot painted and placed in cockpit and some black paint put down. 

Canopy masked and first coat of aluminium applied... it’s pretty shiny, but that won’t really matter. 

Underside painted light green/grey. 

Well it’s green. Of course, due to the hairspray, the tape on the underside took off a big chunk of the light green/grey coat... sigh. 

Did I go overboard on the chipping? I always go overboard on the chipping... 

Now the question is do I paint more? Or add decals? Hmmm... 

I guess I paint. But first I mask! 

Another coat of Future applied... time for the negative mask and some paint. 

Some red dots painted. 

And on the underside. 

Added some white rings around the side red dots. 

Got the base in place, but I made a bit of a mess of the wing by trying to move a misplaced decal. 

Looks better from this side I think. 

 

Still a bit shiny though, maybe a matte coat would help...
