I'm having an unexpected challenge building this kit. Maybe is me being a bit rusty. I also find the details in the model not delicate, those panel lines... Sorry but I'm not a fan.

I find Airfix panel lines to be a bummer as well. Nice start, the cockpit looks great!

Thanks for your encouraging comments. I got started with the camo this last weekend. I was googling for hours to find the Vallejo equivalents of the colours,, particularly the dark grey, but I gave up as they didn't look right to me and did it "by eye" looking at photos. Let's see...

Last week somene posted an album where the colors were on one picture too. He used 71.294 green and 71.097 grey. Thought it was good looking.
On my spitfire (did RAF colors ever change?) I used 71.324 dark green and 71.273 gray which didn't look right to me also.

Subotai, thanks for the references. My main issue was with the grey, on the references is a medium grey, but in the photos has a tint of blue and is a bit lighter. Not sure if it is weathering, but I quite like the blue tint so I went for it.

F-4 tend to have an insane amount of decals when sets really true to the iriginal, but they look fantastic when completed. Great job so far

Thanks for your comments. I thought I was going to be with the finishing touches this weekend, but I had an spiral of mistakes that ended with a cracked piece of the canopy.... We'll get there!

Ladies and gentleman, I'm done. I wanted to do more weathering but I'm breaking pieces faster than repairing then, so I'm going to stop. I am not a fan of Airfix panel lines, but I enjoyed the project: millions of decals, pe and my first base. All can be improved next time. Thanks again for your support on the way, it meant lots. See you around!

Beautiful finish, the panel lines look good - you managed to hide their actual size 👍
PS. You might consider adding a drop of very glossy varnish on the damaged glass to smoothen its look even more.
