I'm watching carfully because I'd like to paint my "gluebomb" the same color

I linked the paint colour to the project. I've never seen the real car. Judging from internet pictures, its pretty close and good quality paint.

Its an excellent kit. It has rotating discs attached to the wheels. I'm tempted to track down a set of metal/P.E. wheels for it. Quite a lot of small pieces, its not a kit for noobs.
I've ordered some decal paper so I can have a go at making the racing numbers to.

The wire wheel set looks very intimidating. I'm not sure what the best way to glue them together is. I'd like to solder them but that probably won't work on stainless.

I have several sets of the #15 250gto decals if anyone is interested. Free to good home, plus postage. I accidentally printed a few sets of 1/12 as well.

Clear 2k coat done. I'll give it another couple of days to harden before polish. Not many parts left in the boxes!

I got the idea from gran turismo on playstation. There's a 458 with Moss graphics on it in the game. Came across it while searching for reference photos. My friend who prints decals can only do A4 sheets, so I got plenty of extras done. The 575M was the only kit in the stash I was prepared to risk spoiling as a test car, although now its nearly finished I'm really happy with it.

Certainly a fantastic job!
I would love to see a close up of those wheels 😉

Pic #25, closeup of wheel. Thin superglue worked well for assembly. I used the original kit wheel nuts, not the P.E. parts. They came with tiny machined air valves, but I didn't bother fitting them.
They are 1mm bigger than the kit rims so the tires stretch on tight. Tires now rub on the body as they end up a bit to big. The rims and centres are machined aluminium, but the adapters for the polycaps are cast resin and don't fit well. That said, they still look very nice and I am happy I bought them.
To get the offset right, I had to put the finished wheel face down on the bench and push firmly (carefully!) on the back of the centres to stretch them out. This also makes them look more realistic as it makes the angle of the front spokes much steeper.

I polished the green lacquer to a good shine before the 2K clear went on. Makes final polishing easier as the clear coat went down as smooth as glass.
