Spirit of Saint Louis

The pice of the motor was a chunk of plastic 

I decided to remove the molded cylinders to replace them with resin ones from a corsair motor kit 

The resulted pice 

The black base for alclad is done 

For the nose I used polished aluminum from alclad 

The rest of the kit is assembled  

 

 

The molded markings on the wings were painted the ones on the nose and tail were covered with super glue from the beginning  

 

A mixture of aluminum plate and stainless steel from metalizer is applied for the hole model 

 

 

After sealing for decals with sealer from metalizer, the alclad on the nose lost power, so a little touch up was made 

For the special metal appearance I made and printed a pattern to simulate it. Here is after it's application.

Now time for the new cylinder with its cabling
