Painted the red, but not very happy with it will micromesh it, and repaint it, may be with some drop of scale75 red ink in order to increase pigments quantity

I find it more orange than red, now i have primed in white, then will paint a layer of yellow, then red, i've seen many people doing this, and some of my clubs friend explain me it was a good way to have a really beautiful red

Thanks mates, ok martin will try, for this one, white primer + yellow layer work really good, i've made a comparison photos to show the differences, with yello layer the red is much more deeper 🙂

Awesome work. Looking forward for final result. It seems for me to move from 1/72 scale to bigger one.

Yes David go to 1/48 much more easier to improve your models in my opinion, but some Master manage to do it in 1/72 not me 🙂

I've tried to make it in 1/72 (see my photoalbum here on scalemates) but it is uncomparable. But the difference is not only the scale. Seb's Thunderbolt is far, far much better.

Yes this kit is really Nice, its tamiya then almost everything is said, for me 1/48 is the Best scale, not too big, not too small, plenty of brand with good quality selling great stuff, i have also plan some 1/32 for planes i really love (p40, corsair)

Here is an update, tried a new technique for me, used a black pencil after doing washes on the panel intersection, works great , but i'm bit confused i have some silvering, I used brillant varnish before posing decals, and after but still silvering, will try to solve this..tam decals were a bit tick (and i used decal softener) 🙁

the Tamiya P 47 is probably the best in 1:48 you can get, and you aged the model very realistically and made beautiful pictures 👍 👍, thanks for sharing 🙂

Seb, I just had another look and I MUST give you further praise. Mate, I am so impressed! The detail in the cockpit is so good it is almost like looking at a 1 to 1! The radial engine is phenomenal! The overall model is faded and weathered perfectly! Again, so impressed!

yes spanjaard, verlinden was THE company for me for many years, when I was child when i began doing scalemodels, I bought one of their catalogues it was about 30 years ago, and watched it for hours, I was really shocked when i Saw pictures of this guys throwing verlinden moulds to the trash
I could recognize verlinden eye closed just by sanding and smelling one piece of resin 🙂

Kudos Seb, lovely scene. As for the tamiya tbolt, it is probably one of the best aircraft kit around in 48, deserves all the love and attention!

Good luck. Looking forward for your next perfect photos. I was on D day beaches (including Omaha) as a tourist years ago, one of my first foreign trips from Czechoslovakia after 1989 when it was possible.

Seb, I'll be on vacation this summer just 3km from the beach. If there's anything I can do with photos, just let me know.

It's going to sound a bit weird Seb but the green forests, blue lakes and snow capped mountains just don't do it for me. Funny eh? My wife is from Thailand, all green and blue. Beautiful place but give me an endless red landscape, Afghanistan, Colorado, Libiya, Algeria, Atacama ect. They light me up!

In winter they would all be way too cold too. In six weeks I am taking Mam to a desert for her first time. It's all about colours I think Seb. And in all of the places I mentioned, the space. Vast, empty space. My cousin is Canadian and is brought to tears by those ancient forests, ice blue lakes and snow capped craggy peaks. I can't wait to get to Europe in a couple of years and see what you guys all love about it. The green and the history and the idyllic little villages. Should be wonderful!
