Ah, the joy of moving. Pack up all your stuff, move, and unpacking “months later”. Here we have Academy’s P-40C that I built not so many years ago as compared to previous postings. The P-40 series is one of my all-time favorite aircraft, if not my favorite of the World War II fighters. I recall an uncle of mine sharing his stories of flying the P-40 which just added to my interest. Something about the image of the shark mouthed fighter still has the power to bring out the 9 year old in me. I must have built a least four of the old Monogram kits when I was a kid. Far better than the Monogram kit, Academy’s model is well engineered with nicely etched panel lines which built up clean with practically no fuss. Airbrushed and hand painted using Testors Acryls and weathered using oil washes, charcoal, and drybrushing.
