Chris VandegriftToday i ordered simulated campfire led's to light the engines with. It's 3 colors that flicker. From Evans Designs. Ordered some straight red ones too just in case the campfire idea is a bomb lol

Chris VandegriftMany many thanks how much interest this has generated. It sure is a blast to build. I'm working on the spyplane now and I found a site with all of the tail graphics. So now my Dio has a name Snoopy versus the red sea.

bughunterGreat work 👍 but: Sorry, the water display, red sand and SR-71 inside are fantastic, but I d not like the frogs (only my personal impression).

Chris VandegriftHey Marcin thanks for stoppin in and checking out the build 🙂 The narrowing of the waves is meant to give the impression of a great distance. Like looking down a very straight road toward the horizon. The road appears to narrow all the way to a point if you can see a long way off.

So the group build is set up like one of those cooking shows, you have 3 ingredients that you MUST use in the construction of your build. They are the color red, frogs, and sand. I've been doing a lot of water bases lately so my wife suggested parting the Red Sea and have frogs jumping out of the curling wave. Liked the idea and I said well let me look at my stash and see what I have for a plane to part the Red Sea. What better plane to part the sea than a SR 71 blackbird!
