Well, to be honest, this one is about as simple as it comes as its just the installation of a pre-wired LED and battery pack that was designed for this kit - all I really had to do was drill the right size hole!

Some more work done on this one. I didn't like the look of the cabochons that come with the kit when they just sit on the plinths, so I milled some recesses for them. Also the eye plinths were oblong rather than circular, possibly due to the 3D printing process used for the master. They have been sanded to a more circular shape. There was also a fourth eye, which didn't have a cabochon supplied, but which was also oblong. This was cut off and will be replaced by a new 6mm cabochon, ordered from E-bay, also into a milled recess.

Awesome project. I am very much looking forward to see the whole "family" picture at the end. 👍

Thanks Stephan - I'll have to do that group photo one day. Anyway the missing eye finally arrived and this one's finished!

Unfortunately, no. I just used various diameter milling bits in a standard drill press. The trick was finding a clamp that worked on the odd shape without damaging the resin - found an aluminium wood working clamp with fairly soft plastic on the jaws which ended up working.

This is the probe droid seen at the start of The Empire Strikes Back, made using the JPG kit (mastered by Nick Sagan) with the Tirydium Models lighting kit - my first try at lighting a model.
