Experimentation! Great! Looking good so far! 👍
The colors in the pictures a quite saturated though, so we probably are not exactly seeing what you are seeing, right?

Nice! 👍 Now you just need a diorama to display them all! Any ideas or just truly experimenting?

Thanks guys, to the first point - yes, the photos are blown out, I apologize for that! I was throwing around the idea of a couple of abandoned factory vignettes...actually the only pigment was an old pouch of railroad rust I had from years ago, can't remember the brand! The rest is just thinner, alcohol, water, mixed with various strengths of reds, browns and yellows. I find if one simply dabs on spots and streaks and then let them dry, the result is much like the real thing that happens outside in the elements. Believe it or not I ran out of red so I just used acrylic craft paint from the dollar store!

Choppa - you are not far from the truth! The large cylinder is actually a sci-fi wargame item! (so not all scrathbuilt ha ha!) ...The "Star Wars" look actually influenced me greatly, when I saw it in 1977 it really struck a chord with me! 🙂

yeah I love all this excessive weathering, it somehow makes it look all the more realistic !
Can I encourage you to get a landspeeder kit and make a Mos Eisely diorama ?
A few mud huts with these things piped into them would really look the part 🙂

I thought I would thin down my spares bin and try my hand at rust. A few scratchbuilt items.
