Star Wars Return of the Jedi A-Wing Fighter

Inside an Airfix kit 1984 release. 

 

Scraped off all the raised panel lines and bolts from the lower body. 

 

 

WIP, 1983 ROTJ Airfix/MPC A-Wing Light Starfighter. Getting there, still deleting details. Airfix has the crappy tinted canopy, may switch out with a scratch built one from a F-14. Guns will be all converted to brass rod and wire detailing, need two cheap Revell 1/48 F-16 air intakes for the rear hyperdrive engines, as the kit part is naff. Side Torpedo launchers will be cut out and scratch built. I've already moved the rear central bulkhead further in so it's more scale. I won't actually use the landing gear, it'll be on a stand eventually. Size comparison to the 1/72 Rogue Squadron A-Wing I built last year.

WIP, 1983 ROTJ Airfix/MPC A-Wing Light Starfighter. Raised details deleted from the top surfaces, front particle ram intakes opened, rear bulkhead moved further forwards, body leading edges thinned more to scale. Launch bays opened and Torpedo tubes added. 

Yeah that dog ain't gonna hunt. Need to scratch build the central engine and burner area from 1/48 F-16 air intakes.

Torpedo tubes added and bays cut out. Also opened up the front particle ram intakes.
