Hello and welcome mates. Nice to have you here.
Hopefully , I will lay down some paint today.

Welcome! Managed to work with masking tape today. A lot of masking for this project and my Honda Today.
I tried to roughly stick to the reference but also do a bit of my own pattern, somewhat at least. Especially on the right wing we can't see much because of the tail.
I think the pattern is okay now, it still looks enough like cracks in between ice shelves. The inner sides of the vertical stabilizers will be blue, same goes for the underside of the jet. The Pylons are in the same grey as most of the aircraft's body.
As far as I know the Su-33 does not use any external fuel tanks, though it would be kind of interesting to attach them to this one. Like it's equipped for very long patrols over the sea.
Maybe I have something left in my bits box. I also consider some sci-fi-ish ordnance but it's not decided yet. Maybe I can come up with something interesting. If not, she will receive the many missiles that came with this kit.

Thanks Huma. Just a small update: I painted some black around the cockpit and painted the metal surfaces for the area in front of the gun.

Hi Robin, good result so far.
The vertical stabilisers should be 90 degrees to the fuselage for the Flanker, not at a slight angle as the Mig-29.

Thanks Christian. Don't worry, I just loosely put them there for the photo. I will glue them at the right angle during the final assembly.
I might have to repaint the missiles. There are no photos of them yet. The painting guide of the kit is not really helpful. I'll probably have to look at some reference photos.
Even if the colours are not completely accurate, it's still better than what they look right now. 😄
Going to take some more freedom with the rims(?) of the landing gear. Usually they are green but I think about painting them blue or maybe red.

Thank you mates. I applied some clear coat and I think she's ready for decals now.

Beautiful camo, turned out great already! 👍
Looking forward to the rest of the build.
Where is your inspiration picture from?

Beautiful paintjob, the heat discoloration of the metal on the exhausts is excellently reproduced!

I applied a dark pin wash but the stabilizers are not glued on yet.
The missiles are not done and attached to the model yet either. I have to apply a few coats of satin varnish on the jet itself in hope it will reduce the glossiness a bit.

Welcome!
Well, she's done. I plan to take some more pictures when there is better weather or daylight. Overall I am quite happy with the result.
As last step before final assembly I sprayed a few layers of semi-flat and flat clear over the jet, to tone down the reflections. It was very glossy in some areas.
This was a fun project overall and I enjoy working on such things. I guess you can expect more unusual camos and fictional roundels from me in the future. I love Ace Combat, fictional (sci fi) aircraft and all the stuff that can come with it.
I might design my own roundels and emblems at some point, probably with help. There are even crazier ideas floating in my head right now. I hope I can make them reality. 🙂
Thanks mates for dropping by.
Cheers!

Beautiful bird! 👍
But one small thing - isn't there a pitot tube missing at the front?
24 February, 17:52

Thanks everyone!
@Alexander: yes, it is indeed missing 🙁 At some point it fell down and I could not find it again ever since. At this point I fear it was sucked up by my vacuum.

Somehow I always manage to drop things and they keep disappearing. Always nervous handling such parts. 😅

Fictional Flanker with an interesting white and blue camouflage.
