Sometimes, you just feel a passion from your heart, a sparkling idea, coming from your own history, your place, your home. I was born, and still leaving in Saint-Petersburg, and specifically - in the place, where the Komendantsky airfield used to be. And near me, there is a street, named after Vadim Shavrov (and around there are lot of other streets with speaking aviation names). A first Shavrov's amphibian, Sh-1(proto-Sh-2), was built in an apartment in the heart of Leningrad (a USSR-period name of Saint-P), and was finally assembled on the Komendantsky airfield. This little, simple flying boat started the russian history of amphibian planes. And now I feel, that it's my duty to build a model of it's serial successor - the Sh-2.
