In an alternative universe, Willy Messerschmitt on november 10th 1938 decides to defect to the USA. He takes with him the top secret designs for his new plane. Sensitive of his celebrity status, he changes his name to Bill Schmitt. Surprisingly, nobody wants to meet him to talk about his new BS plane. After many, many attempts, his BS262 is awarded a USAF contract. Schmitt's only demand is that all BS262's must be flown by pilots of German heritage.
My plane will depict a BS262 flown during the invasion of Normandy, by lt.col Georg von Trapp, call sign 'BB'. 'BB' is short for Blue Balls, which Von Trapp is called ever since his unfortunate event at flight school...
Schmitt also took the plans for the JuMo engines with him. Because he couldn't understand them, he invited two other ex-pats to join forces and build him the engines.
Hub van Doorne, from the famous DAF car plant, and Oliver Bierhoff, a former soccer golden boy, started a company to build the jet engines.
This particular BS262 came powered by two DooBie DB-5 engines.
