The Yom Kippur Veteran- Egyptian T-54

This vehicle dates from the period shortly after the conflict with Israel in 1973.
The showen model isn´t based on a specific reference but was rather inspired by the idea that in the wake of the war a tank was recovered and rebuilt from other wrecks and spare parts and reused for training purposes.

This theme includes both- facts and some fiction.

The whole thing wasn´t my own idea I have to admit.
I took Chema Cabrero's article from Vallejo's "Red Steel" publication, which I've taken over with only minor modifications.

As a base kit I used Ammo´s fabolous T-54 (A.MIG-8502).
In order to adapt it better to the reference, I used a PE deatil set from Part (P72-114), wheels from Armory (AC7285), a gun barrel from Aber (72L-45) and for further refinement a DShK machine gun also from Armory (AC7239).
The figures are from Paracel Miniatures (Mini 7201) and actually represent a Vietnamese tank crew, however, they fit perfectly for my theme, the rest had to be solved by the painting;).

The idea is to start with the standard egyptian 3tonal camo- sand, brown, green, overpainted by the new sand camo, showing it in a well worn look.
