Aluminum wire and greenstuff 5January 6, 2019Nope, not good enough. Not happy with this paintjob, it's cruddy. I think I was just impatient. 6January 6, 2019This is the MK1 curing oven, to keep dust (and me) away from parts as they dried. 7January 6, 2019And while I was building the curing oven, I stripped the parts all the way down. Used OxyClean and Windex. Paint came right off, primer was far more stubborn. Took about 5 hours or brushing/scrubbing/scraping. 8January 6, 2019Ok, back to the start. 9January 6, 2019I promised I would slow down, and this drying oven helped me do that. By speeding up each drying phase, I'm more willing to wait. 10January 6, 2019Had to scrape off the factory paint, and file down seam lines on the Katana, which is 1/12 scale action figure surplus. 11January 12, 2019This is a mask i cut out of styrene sheet, for the Ashkirage clan insignia 12January 12, 2019Paint coming off has been a constant problem, still need to slow down even more. 13January 12, 2019 14January 12, 2019waterslide decal under the clear lens 15January 12, 2019 16January 12, 2019 17January 12, 2019 18January 12, 2019 19January 12, 2019 20January 12, 2019Painting done 21January 20, 2019Gloss coated before panel lining and waterslides 22January 20, 2019A truly WTF moment when I discovered this. 23January 20, 2019Prepping for panel lining and waterslides, and this shoulder pad just cracked off. Never seen anything like it. Comments22 November 2024, 15:24 - Project infoAstraea Custom - "Snake Eyes"29 images1:100CompletedAll albumsView all albums »
