Cockpits finished. What is the best order for painting? first the metal parts, then the camo, or vice versa?

It would be interesting in 1/48 or 1/72. In this 1/144 I call it nearly impossible.
You're raising the bar, Bart 👍

so you will add the stencils, and mask over to do the extra camo.... right? i would suggest to do some testing before. I had some stencils covered with Future (at least two thin layers), and then used some tamiya masking tape. i even placed the tape on my skin first to make it weaker, but the tape took the stencils with it.... so better do some testing, otherwise you may find all those tiny decals/transfers gone when you remove the masking.
it may have been just me, maybe i should have added more future, but just in case.

Unfortunately there's no other way... some decals have a grey background, others don't... I've already applied a coat of tamiya clear, maybe a second coat couldn't hurt... a warned man...

better safe than sorry, and for sure, goes without saying, i would leave it a couple of days to cure completely....(that is one of the most difficult parts from me, leave it there and do not touch it when you actually have the time....)

Hell of a job. I wish you all the patience in the world.

thx (I hope, but still not really convinced it will work to satisfaction...), but we will see in a few days, how it will hold when airbrushing the camo...... I will tape in the first one, and spray it, so that I can take the lessons learned to the second one...

So this is basically a 4-tone camo on a 1:144 model, times 2 😮 You've earned my respect (again)
Keep it up!

thx, 1 fault and 1 area that will need some sanding. I'll call it a succes, maybe I'll add an extra white stripe above the left wing...
