Sometimes I need to build something completely different from my normal topics. When I was a teenager I was very in to the Space Race and space exploration. Together with the new model range of spaceships and rockets from Dragon and other companies some years ago my interest for this subject came back more and more. Last week I finally decided to build some spaceship models in 1/72 scale (because I found out that Dragon releases a Mercury Redstone in this scale). Last Friday I went to my favorite model shop and finally bought the Dragon Apollo 11 „Lunar Landing“ set.
One good point by building spacecrafts is that they do not need weathering. Also the color range for this model is very clear. So I started gluing the parts together without making to many thoughts about the colors.
The capsule comes without any interior. Just the docking mechanism consists of 5 parts and also needs adjustment to show in the correct direction.
The service module is made from 8 parts and brought into position by the rings. Unfortu
