Ferrari F1-75 WIP Pictures

I had to fix one of the fins. I hope it doesn't break again when thinning out later.
In addition, the selvage on the top fo the floor has been moved forward in order to be able to put on the monocoque. I heated the floor and monocoque with a heat gun and moves them into the right shape. 

The rear end of the engine cover has been thinned out. The bulges in the engine area will also be opened later! 

The rear end of the floor was shortened by about 1-2mm. A slight tilting of the transmission to the floor can be seen. The gap may have to be closed later with putty or styrene sheet. 

The nose must be completely adjusted in width and height. I will show more pictures where I made the connection on the nose. There is also a misprint here, I will close it with resin. 

The openings in the wheel covers of the front axle were opened up to the top. I wonder if it needs to be opened further to the rear as well. Here again a slight error already present before processing - a hairline crack can be seen at the upper end - but I don't think it will break later. 

The openings between the wing elements were completely opened. Thinned out the wing elements and carved out the light elements from the outside by thinning the side plates. 

The openings between the wing elements were also opened on the front wing. Especially the opening between the 2 and 3 elements is very tiring because the closed area is very large and it is difficult to see in which direction you have to work.

The same around rear end area. 

Cut out the flap element on the side area of the floor. Here I am still thinking about doing this at the front end of the element as well. The question is how much material can be removed so that it remains stable. 

The front area of the airbox is too short on the model and the engine cover is too long. Accordingly, the gap of the fin is not available or large enough. So I checked various elements and looked at how I can fix the error as best as possible, but it will be a mix of compromises. The area of the camera has been slightly shortened as I will be making a new T-Cam. In addition, the gap to the fin was created, the area of the fin was shortened and the panel line for the engine cover was created. 

 

In order to be able to glue the floor better later, I attached a holding pin. 

I also attached fixing pins to the monocoque in the nose area, so that I am able to paint the nose separately and also attach the carbon decals. 

The exhaust has been thinned out as much as possible and the diameter has also been increased for the inner pipe. 

2 fixation pins were attached to the halo. Also here for the fact that you can paint it separately and stick decals on it and simply attach it later. 

Version 1 - new steering wheel version: A little detail work on the steering wheel. As with the RB16B, I cut off the rear part of the steering wheel and replaced it with my own part. Again with an adapter piece so that the steering wheel can also be removed and placed there for show. 

 

Version 2 - new steering wheel version: A small rework so that we are even closer to the correct scaling. 

 

Here the new T-Cam. This was shortened at the back and is now closer to the original. The angles of the camera sections have also been adjusted and the areas of the cameras have been revised. You can now get more detail by using a different color scheme (I'll try painting - maybe I'll succeed). And a few additional screw points and panel lines were also attached. 

 

The gap between the camera and the fin is still too small for me personally, so I will make another adjustment here and also revise the panel line on the engine cover. 

 

Maybe not perfect but a good compromise, but it's still a bit of work. Next up is some primer so you can see more the result. 

 

 

 

I'm wondering how best to attach the steering arm. I think it's almost a mistake on the monocoque and there should still be a cut out. The arm would fit great and the shape is right. Maybe I'm right. So I'm really considering making that cut out so the arm can be used as is. 

 

 

 

The area around the airbox has been completed. It was smoothed again with a fine putty. 

 

 

I made it, it looks great and fits perfectly. I think I won't regret it. I think it's a clean solution to the problem. 

 

 

 

The primer on all parts was applied. So far everything looks ok. I sanded a few parts again and primed a second time. Yesterday I had a terrible crash - the nose fell off and broke. I had to replace almost all the retaining elements of the 1st wing element. But it should work... 

 

 

 

I was thinking about it today, but then I had to try it. I thinned it down to a thickness of 0.5mm and it worked.  

 

 

The decals from S.K.decals have arrived and I think the choice is not bad. 

 

Extension of the upper arms. You can't see much of it, but I feel better. 

 

 

 

Moving on… Cut out the area for the top tube and lengthened it. Then thinned out the gearbox area again! 

 

 

 

I've started making some decal templates for the floor. Maybe I'll digitize them right away, so mirroring and reproducing will be easier. But I have to look again at how far I want to go on the floor and how the structure looks like there. I have to study more pictures... 

Due to the connection of body and floor, it doesn't look so nice from below anyway. I wonder if it's worth the effort? 

This is not an easy decision... 

 

 

After felt thousands of carbon decal templates I started with some small parts. 

 

 

Tomorrow I will check if some additional details are possible for the knobs below the display.
