Junkers J.1 (Blechesel) Widoczność: Pokaz slajdów Mozaika Lista 1 September 18, 2021
The main pieces showed some mould misalignment, which needed filling with putty followed by sanding to shape
2 September 18, 2021
Same issue on the other side
3 September 18, 2021
Some dials added to the blank dashboard that comes with the kit - pure conjecture as I couldn't find any references
4 September 18, 2021
Unfortunately the side walls warped and I couldn't straighten them, and get them to stay straight
5 September 18, 2021
I ended up cutting them out and replacing them with some sheet styrene - much more stable!
6 April 26, 2022
Some structure detail added to the insides of the side walls
7 April 26, 2022
Interior painted and seats, control panel wheel and rudder pedals added, everything given a light wash and then the top deck added and the joints filled
8 April 27, 2022
Drilled 0.8mm holes in the fuselage, wings and tail parts to accept 0.8mm copper wire pins
9 April 27, 2022
Wings and horizontal tail surfaces glued in place
10 April 27, 2022
Tidied up the vertical tail and added a support rod so it doesn't have to be just glued to end of the fuselage
11 April 27, 2022
Tail just put in place at the moment without glue
12 April 27, 2022
One of the axles on the spreader bar was broken so I channelled my inner Bughunter and replace the whole axle with a 1mm brass tube
13 April 28, 2022
Added control horns (from Part) and glued undercarriage in place
14 April 28, 2022
Primer on - just a couple of pin holes needing a bit of filler
15 April 29, 2022
All painting done now and wheels, radiator, tail, engine and propeller in place
16 April 30, 2022
Started decaling - the kit only came with the black crosses so I cut some squares from a sheet of white decal
