Is this anything to do with Jacques Cousteau. ? If so, he would be proud to have it on his desk. 👍 🙂

Kerry, the Le Suroit has no direct link to Jacque Cousteau. However, Jacque Cousteau's research vessel 'Calypso' is in my stash waiting to be built. Ocean Exploration Vessel (Revell 05101, 1:125)

Something out of the usual blend of topics - and really nicely made too! Really nice clean build, looks great in the vitrine, well made.

Oh, that is so cool. Not many civilian ships built here, good to see your nice build. 👍

Nice display piece. 🙂 The photos ought to be color corrected though, to show the hull being white. I suspect the photos have an orange tint to them. In artificial lighting, I guess the reddish base plate might give the white hull a slight reddish tint. Presumably looking different with sunlight.
Example using GIMP free 2d editor: ibb.co/F7hMh41

Images of my first ship kit of Ifremer's 'Le Suroit' in 1/200. Its a great kit and is built mostly OTB apart from....
- PE railings, ladder rungs on A-frame and ladders
- Scratch built SAR (Système Acoustique Remorqué) to properly depict the search for the Titanic expedition in 1985.
- Scratch built bow thruster.
- Added details to the Cyana submersible
- 3D printed rigging blocks
- Rigging line
- Humbrol clearfix windows and portholes
- Metal anchor chains
- Wire radio aerial
