Thank you, friends! Glad to see you here. I've really desired to have this kit, and will try my best in building it. Though it won't be easy, I suppose.

Hello, friends! Nearly completely assembled the float-boats. These are really fantastic - with the highly detailed inner structure, after the clever cleanup they come together exceptionally, and that is a short-run! Only the porthole holes need to be made bigger a bit, but that a common thing for such kits. Also, I've started to assemble the tail and began dry-fitting the wing consoles.

Hello, friends! I've completely assembled the tail and started to construct the engine system. Therefore, I've decided to make another dry-fit. The model already looks awesome, and for a shortrun the fit is rather excellent, so far! However, it requires attention here and there, but nothing serious.

Looks like the interior is nicely detailed. Also looks like almost none of it will be visible...

Hello, friends! Finally, I've started the paintwork. The red, especially when it comes in big quantities, is a difficult colour to build-up, but with the help of four different hues and clever shading, I think I've managed to make it look juicy!

Thank you very much, friends! Added new photos - the Jahu was washed, varnished and demasked. The tail was finally firmly attached to the body. Also, detailed the engine mount a bit - the original did have shiny metallic edges on it's struts, so instead of painting them, I've attached thin stripes of self-adhesive tin foil. The mount won't be attached to the body until I've finished the engines.

The foil job looks leagues better than simple paint would 👍 Nice added detail considered most of the plane are large smooth surfaces, good idea & well carried out

Great work Dmitriy! I've got to find a reason to build a red plane!

Hello, friends! The process of base-making is nearing its' culmination - I've already poured second layer of "water" and even added some stuff to it. Just take a look!

Looking very promising 👍 With temperatures here in Vienna going in the direction of 37+ Celsius, the azure blue looks provocatively attractive 🙂

Un update - final layer of resin water was poured into the frame, and the boat itself landed there. The finish is getting near!

That water is very nice. Also seems like a much better kit then the Delta 2 one...
What did you use for rigging? You can enhance the tension by heating it slightly with a "burning" incense stick. You can slightly heat the wires and make them shrink a bit more...

Bart, this is a synthetic monofilament of 0,1 diameter. I ain't sure about its' ability to shrink, but thanks, I'll try on a piece of wire.
Much better is a serious understatement - this kit is like from another universe when compared to Delta, though it is of another modification (different boats, engines, cockpit, many other little things), so if you want to have the S.55X, and especially the one of Italo Balbo, it would be, probably, easier to build it from old Delta kit. But! It's rare, very expensive and, also, as far as I know, F.Rufolo (ItalianKits) is currently working on a resin model of Balbo's S.55, though the date of release is unknown - I've asked him about it and he didn't specify any date in his answer.

A wonderful diorama. Top idea, build and paintwork! The naturalistic water invites to jump in!

The water against the shore and pontoons looks very real! And of course your plane and figures are beautiful too!
