I´ll keep an eye on this, too! I like the Tu-22M in her early configuration.

Hello, friends! Finally finished building the main airframe. Now just need to refine some places and this giant (60cm in length!) will be ready for colours. The frontal air intakes are made detachable for easier painting.

Hello, friends! Once again, I'm here with a surprise - simply check out the paint-job of this beast. The idea is mine, but inspiration comes form the RED ALERT!

Woohoo - this took quite a different direction as I was expecting, not your everyday Tu-22M finish, but it looks really great!

Thanks for all the kind words, mates - it's really inspiring to hear them. By the way, I've added some details to the scheme - highlighted several pannels and painted the flaps' inner mechanization.

Hello everyone! For a long time I was thinking of a way to make word-stencils for my TU-22M2, and just when I agreed with myself on the idea to simply order the needed decals, I've became an owner of a 3D-printer, so I've decided to experiment a bit and print the stencil, since the surface for it is rather flat. And seems to me, it worked nicely! I will continue with this technique on this model, since I need a lot more words. Of course, it'll need some touch-ups, since the B missing it's "holes", but that the only serious downside.

That's one daunting Tupolev. I really like the paintjob. Wainting for the finished photos.

Looking at this gives me chills... One scary looking piece of military hardware...😉 Great fictional (I guess?) design and flawless execution, the colors and shading all work together perfectly... Only thing I do not fully understand is why you decided to put the red star facing "backwards"? It surely looks great that way too, just curious... The use of 3D print seems to be the "next big thing" in our hobby, nice pioneering job 🙂

Александр, спасибо! Да, полностью мою дизайн окраски.
Thank you friends! Slavo, the design is completely fictional, it's of my own creation. I wanted to incorporate in it the feel of the Red Alert game series, but instead of making it deliberately clownish (like in games), I've decided to have a go with the more dark aesthetic altogether. There are two reasons for star to be facing backwards. First is practical - when I was drawing mock-ups on TU-22 picture, it proved to be the only good way to place it so it could be big and recognizable. The second came from the first - now it looks a bit like satanic pentagram, that works great for my idea. Red shadings on it also enhance the whole sinister look.

The sickle&hammer pics remind me of "Firefox" movie a lot, though I'm an anti-fan of whifs😉

Hello, friends! Added new photos. Finally, I've added all the needed elements to my scheme, and also painted the belly. The phrase on belly can be translated as "We are many/We are the union". Also, I personally do like the symbol of the pigeon of peace, broken in half.

Hello, friends! I've finally added EVERYTHING I wanted to the scheme. Then the model was varnished, washed with black tamiya paneliner, then matted. After that, i've used salt technique to make the surface look weathered. Then, I've demasked the cockpit. THe model still has some salt here and there, but I'll remove it, of course. Was working till the late night, didn't have enough will to remove all the salt excess 🙂

Looking great already - The salt effects (where fully washed 🙂 ) look very good indeed - I want to do something roughly similar on my current build, so this is quite inspirational 👍

Hello, friends! The bird is finished. I've uploaded some final photos. Some aditional shots will be added later. Also, now I need to prepare a base for such enormous beast.

Nothing else than Stalins mausoleum will do for this as a dio background! 🙂
Really great work Dmitriy. Easily one of the best fantasy patterns I´ve seen in terms of design, no wonky or cheap features, just a really badass theme. The execution is the icing on the cake, makes it really shine and compete with any real-world build out there. Top job and a great show with the pictures! 👍

Thank you mates greatly for all this astonishing feedback! I've added a photo of the two X-22 rockets for the bomber. A bit later will also add the photo of them mounted on the aircraft.

Hello, friends!! I've uploaded photos of the finished project - now the aircraft has the base. The concrete plates are from ICM, the pilot from northstar models. The fist stencil was copied by hand from the image, found on the web, and the letters with the name of the work were made on my home 3d-printer, and then painted with black primer, titanium metallic and red on top, and chipped a bit afterwards. With that said, I can finally call this project done!!
