Prep for painting and priming 

Basecoated 

Customized head. Aluminum wire and greenstuff 

Nope, not good enough. Not happy with this paintjob, it's cruddy. I think I was just impatient. 

This is the MK1 curing oven, to keep dust (and me) away from parts as they dried. 

And while I was building the curing oven, I stripped the parts all the way down. Used OxyClean and Windex. Paint came right off, primer was far more stubborn. Took about 5 hours or brushing/scrubbing/scraping. 

Ok, back to the start. 

I promised I would slow down, and this drying oven helped me do that. By speeding up each drying phase, I'm more willing to wait. 

Had to scrape off the factory paint, and file down seam lines on the Katana, which is 1/12 scale action figure surplus. 

This is a mask i cut out of styrene sheet, for the Ashkirage clan insignia 

Paint coming off has been a constant problem, still need to slow down even more.

Gloss coated before panel lining and waterslides 

A truly WTF moment when I discovered this. 

Prepping for panel lining and waterslides, and this shoulder pad just cracked off. Never seen anything like it.
