Douglas C-47 Dakota

Sometime you will find interesting and long forgotten kits somewhere, where you would not expect them. Bought this one long time ago, and just hide it and forgot about it. Years ago i was planing to build an diorama with an C-47 on a airfiled waiting for the soldiers from the Easy Company to board it. Scene from the first Band of Brother episode. Maybe i will build it in the future. Right now i dont have enought space for it. 🙂

that is a really good idea. i have been thinking on getting a C-47 for some time, and D-day markings were my first choice, but i was kind of thinking in just building the plane, using the band of brothes are starting point is really tempting.... thanks. did you finished tghis one? any pictures? i would love to see how you did it. 🙂

Unfortunately not yet. I have to find some space for it an the american ww2 paratroopers in 1:72. 😄

and now that i think about it.... i see some boxes of paratroopers after they landed, but i do nto see any of US paras gettign ready for D day... are you aware of such a box?

I am not sure, but i think i saw a set with standing US paratroopers from Preiser. But it was years ago an i cant find the set anymore.

Hehe, found the paratroopers that i see long time ago, turned out there were also 1:48 scale. Transforming some figure could be a good idea. Will search for some figures that will suit for the diorama.

there are some D day paratroopers that can be modified probably. but getting to scratchbuild backpacks/parachutes in 1/72 will be... chalenging? 😉
it is either that, or build a 1/48 C47, that would also be an interesting diorama....

I dont even have space for the 1:72 model. Where should i put the 1:48 scale? 😉
