January 3, 2025TOS Initial Disassembly
I was able to separate the nacelles from the secondary hull however not as successfully as the Refit-A2
January 3, 2025Refit-A Disassembled

January 3, 2025Regluing/Assembling the A's saucer4
January 3, 2025Lots of gap Filling5
January 3, 2025Paint stripped and disassembled TOS filled and ready for primer.6
January 3, 2025Primed and re-sanded Enterprise-A7
January 5, 2025TOS Enterprise - Base coat/detail painting
Unfortunately I discovered the saucer needed to be re-sanded. After respraying a second base coat I'll continue adding paint details.8
January 5, 2025Enterprise-A, Painted ready for gloss and decals.
Very happy with the shade of white/silver I accomplished with my airbrush. Spent most of my evening painting small highlights but I'm looking forward to seeing it all pop with the decals!9
January 9, 2025Enterprise-A Decals
I pre-sliced the bottom saucer decals to help them settle. Unfortunately the bottom decal lines didn't line up as well as the top did.10
January 9, 2025Enterprise-A Top Saucer Aztec Decals
The top saucer decals settled and aligned with the molded details quite well.11
January 9, 2025Enterprise-A: Pre Final Assembly
All sections decaled and prepped for final topcoat & assembly!12
January 9, 2025TOS Enterprise: Final Prep
Prepped for top coat and final assembly13
January 12, 2025Really cool to see the date of when this kit was first printed. It really holds up despite the age.14
January 12, 2025Luckily all parts of the D were lightly(poorly) glued together making this disassembly pretty smooth..15
January 12, 2025The phaser strip will be my biggest concern when I eventually insert it in the plexiglass the stand. We'll cross that bridge when we get there..16
January 12, 2025Small piece of the upper secondary hull stayed glued but I will be sure to fill and sand it once rejoined17
January 20, 2025Time for some good ol' fashioned soak and scrub! (Tip: don't forget to use gloves iso really dries/damages skin with extended contact)18
January 20, 2025Satisfied by how clean the iso stripped the paint as well as how all pieces came apart for disassembly
