Green 2 Rogue Squadron

Apparently I'm building the 1/72 Bandai Kuat Systems Engineering RZ-1 A-Wing Interceptor Starfighter. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Where I'm currently at, 1/72][1/48 Bandai RZ-1 A-Wing " Green 2 " Rogue Squadron. Bottom is almost finished, going from black to off-white, through pale sand, panel lines gently weathered as im going. Changing the scale to 1/48, because the supplied pilot is ridiculously small, so I'll scratch an armless pilot torso eventually. Getting there, still needs another few layers upto off-white. 

Tiny update, started painting the tail fin engines and rudders. Looking cool, a strange grey, because of odd lighting, should look normal once I'm back home Sunday. Eventually I'll start the green squadron markings. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There we go, you can see its more of a creamy off-white than a grey in better lighting. Last pic shows how huge the A is next to my other Rebel Fighters, its not 1/72, its a 1/48 kit, with a 1/72 pilot, maybe Bandai were going to make these all in the larger scale, but changed their minds? Who knows? 

 

Bashed an amputee A-Wing 1/48 pilot from an unused Airfix Seafire mkF.XVII FAA pilot. Green 2 Stumpy Magee. Needs a bit more sanding to fit his deformed body into the cockpit. To be honest they were suicide Fighters similar to the Japanese Kamikaze of WW2, don't think any A-Wings survived Return of the Jedi's attack on the Death Star 2. 

 

 

 

 

Poor old "Stumpy" Magee, squidged into the A-Wing cockpit, no hope of escape, not bad though, that'll do. It's a shame Airfix won't be including anymore naff figures in their kits, as they do come in handy. 

 

 

 

 

Starting to add the ID markings and weathering. Favourite Bandai so far? Maybe? I want to make more. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That's me done for today. Its coming along very nicely. Just bits n bobs left to do, lasers, blast marks, decals, tiny bits. Cool.
