Finally working on Supplice, one of my favorite mech designs.
Unlike Bandai gunpla here is no inner frame and I to assemble many parts and disassemble them partially later for easier painting. On a positive note not a lot of glueing was necessary.
I eyeballed the colours and only roughly stuck to the paint guide in the manual.
With painting and construction now mostly done I am thinking if and what kind of diorama/vignette I should build. It's an issue I have with many projects, like the Apocalypse tank as well and while the model is done I can't really decide on the diorama around it. While not absolutely necessary I like to put the model in some kind of environment.

Thanks for checking in mates. 🙂
Roland, yes you can pose it. It's like an action figure you build first. Though its range of motion is somewhat limited it could also work for some cool dynamic poses. I will play around with it to see what is possible.

Alrighty, work on the base continues. Applied a bit of earth. It will be fixed with diluted PVA glue later.
The wall and tower received a bit of acrylic texture stippling to make it look like concrete.

Managed to do a bit more. Wanted to have the tank to look somewhat burnt out. As it is not a JGSDF Type I decided to go for a fun but simple camo and added black and rust pigments around its holes.
The turret is made with a 1/35 Flak Vierling, I need to look up which one but some of you probably recognize which one it is, and a 1/72 Munitionsschlepper.

Thank you S M and Neil! 🙂
I applied subtle chipping and a black wash on the mech a few days ago and will hopefully continue with the diorama soon. Pictures follow once I made more visible progress.
To be honest, I only had a rough concept in mind and just started with it, no good and proper planning was done. And the turret also was just a last minute idea as I thought: "What can I do to thin out my stash a bit more?" 😄
The diorama needs a bit more details and I will think about what to do and what to add. I think of more debris and rubble and a bit of grass and other plants perhaps.
Maybe I can also use some more parts from the bits box to scatter around. I was hoping to add some empty ammo cases from the guns of the mech but didn't find anything I could use yet that has the right size.
The destroyed tank porbably does not look very realistic but it isn't finished yet either. It still needs some wash and dirt. But I didn't intend to turn it into a project of it's own.

I don't like modern mech designs. They look too thin in some places. Bu this one is coll, very cool. Great work my friend!

Thank you you very much mates. 🙂
The project is done but I didn't manage to shoot a few new images yet. Will upload them as soon as I finish the photo shoot.

Getting my photo background ready seems to be more complicated than I thought but that's mainly my fault because I keep screwing things up.
Anyway, here are a few images of the finished diorama.
This project was a lot of fun but I seriously need to step up my diorama game. I hope to become much better and have dioramas that are much more detailed and also improve the quality of the finished models themselves. Sometimes I am a bit sloppy.
Looking forward to build more mecha kits and I hope Kotobukiya finally gives us the model kits for the new game, I am a bit hyped for them.
Cheers!
