January 12, 2021A nice win from EBay.. A real bargain.2
January 12, 2021Ah, the joy of unboxing a vintage model kit... Mmm.. Smells just like 1999!3
January 12, 2021Few parts, nice details, pure enjoyment. The lettering on the base though..4
January 12, 2021Although it’s a Snapfast, it still needs filler, glue, and sanding. Notice the nice raised panel lines.5
January 12, 2021Dry fitting the squadron.. needs a Naboo Starfighter firing upon it.. On order..6
January 12, 2021Embossed lettering on a dome base, hmm7
January 17, 2021I did not use any primer.8
January 18, 2021I think I matched the colors from the box art pretty well.. It’s basically a washed out Olive drab, and shading the base color of the plastic..9
January 17, 202110
January 17, 2021I want the eyes to glow.. white base, fluorescent pink, followed by a red wash for tint.. however, I’ve never been successful with complex masking jobs like this..

January 17, 2021Sealing the tape with flat clear.12
January 17, 2021Black base for dry brushing later.13
January 17, 2021So far, so good..The black areas will be dry brushed silver, followed by different colored washes.14
January 18, 2021More masking..15
January 18, 2021Vallejo Air black.16
January 17, 2021I know I have laid the paint on too thick..17
January 18, 2021As I suspected, had some trouble with the eyes. Too much paint caused a tiny ridge to form. After the tape was removed. Not sure if I can live with this or not. If I redo the eyes, I’ll have to redo the body also.18
January 18, 2021All the ducks in a row.19
January 18, 2021Yeah, that was satisfying..20
January 18, 2021I’m pretty happy with how they look. I need lots more practice with masking..21
January 18, 2021Imagine a Naboo Star fighter in firing position..22
January 18, 2021Still a WIP..23
January 20, 2021Added some dry brushed silver. Calling it completed.
