I am going to put the old kit decals to the test! ( Insert maniacal laugh!) I have plenty of newer spares and AM so I am not worried if they explode on contact with the water. Just realized that my flip phone images are NOT going to cut it to document this build. I may have to resort to using my old iPhone 4 to take pictures and manually remove them from the phone's internal image folder! LOL

So after looking over the old AMT/Hasegawa decals from this kit and another kit of the same boxing I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that there is just no way for me to use the original decals. The decal's film itself is fine but the ink has very large cracks through the roundels that even a couple of coats of varnish would not fix. Luckily, I have a decent sized decal stash and the same subject is on one of my ESCI Starfighter sheets! Now I just have to find that sheet! LOL :-D
