The Raptor Droid is supposed to have proton torpedo launchers where the TIE Droid has laser cannons - here the lasers have been removed and torpedo tubes made from styrene tubing
A glowing droid eye was simulated by spraying the eye with concentric circles of black, gunmetal and silver, all of which were overpainted with clear red
This is an old build, originally built in 2014 but with a repaint so it fits in better with my current TIE collection. It is based on a Scale Solutions TIE Droid kit with TIE Raptor wings from Multi-Verse Models. The TIE Droid and TIE Raptor both are both from the old Expanded Universe (comics and books respectively) but the combined droid raptor is a fan design. The MVM wings are designed for the Fine Molds TIE kits but fit the SS ball quite well. The 2014 version was painted a light grey but I've picked Haze Grey for the repaint.
