Tom ...
Incredible work, Martin. You've out done yourself. I hope to one day be as rusty as you!

Thank you Tom. May you rust gently 😉
IRL the rust is a bit more subdued than in the pictures. During the build I felt that the tender was a bit overdone in relation to the loc. Now it's the other way around. Anyhow, my first train and my first real attempt at weathering. I'm very pleased with both 😄

Martin, you should be! It turned out very well. The coal looks very real, in spite of you not taking Peter up on his offer for a real chunk. 😉 I find every model I do has some "first attempt at..." That's the whole point of our hobby, is to learn history, new skills, and an appreciation what people before us went through, as well as just exercising our creativity and HAVING FUN! And occasionally it turns out pretty d@#n good! As in this case

Thanks you Mac and Cristian. Just adjust the story to the mistakes you made and you're in the clear 😄

This one is done. The WIP can be found here: scalemates.com/profi..bums&album=33185
Just after the war a train has been parked in a siding for the night and is cold. A light rust has settled on the wheels during the night. Due to shortages of everything, the trains maintenance has been at a bare minimum.
