July 13, 2018Before attaching the tail wings to the fin, I've cut of their front pins, drilled the holes and isntalled a long pin, made from injection needle, to ensure the alignment and strength.39
July 13, 2018I've started with dry-fitting of the wing attachment struts from frilling the holes in all the attachment points.40
July 13, 2018I've started with dry-fitting of the wing attachment struts from frilling the holes in all the attachment points.41
July 13, 2018Then, I've made some pins from simple needles42
July 13, 2018And installed them into the side struts43

July 13, 2018From the top, everything looks pretty and smooth...45
July 13, 2018But, here it reveals the problem - either the length of side struts, or something else is out of shape, but the space between top of the hull and bottom of the wing appears to be way too long!46
July 15, 2018I did cut off some parts of the attachment points for side struts47

July 15, 2018Sits good, the alignment is bad due to the height of rear pair of middles struts51

July 17, 2018To solve the problem, I've cut off the upper sections of the front middles struts, then shortened the struts and after that put the upper sections back on their place55

"I've always respected this thoughtful aircraft designer." - Ernst Heinkel about Cladius Dornier.
Finally, I've gathered enough inner strength and skill to start this important project. I'm not going to dive into the world of rivet-counting, all I want is to properly pay an honor to the most classic flying boats of Claudius Dornier.
