My favorite P-40N has to be the one flown by Joel B. Paris, probably because of the fantastic box art from the 1/72 Hasegawa kit. So when Hasegawa released their 1/48 version, I had to take a crack at it.
Few images exist of this airframe, but those that do show severe weathering, with the white leading-edge recognition bands mostly worn to the paint underneath. I tried to replicate that; I'm not entirely satisfied with how it turned out, but I learned a lot. I might take another crack at it on the 1/32 kit.
This model is now part of the collection at the USS Lexington Museum in Texas.
