Hi Michael, yes I used Alclad II aluminium ALC-101. This is my first extensive use of Alclad. I applied it over a gloss lacquer black coat, but find that it made little difference in the final effect vs applying over grey Mr Surfacer 1200.
According to Alclad, only their "High Shine" range needs an enamel gloss black base.
The Alclad was surprisingly tough; I could buff it down with 3M sanding pads to remove the fine 'dust'.
Airbrushing lacquer clear gloss also did not mar the finish at all.

Can you tell me how did achieve variation in aluminum panels? Different Alclads or just one mixed with something else? Or perhaps you did it with differing opacity over black base?
