I have the tamiya 300SL in the stash, should have done that one instead. I have the monogram 300SLR to, I haven't looked in the box to see what is like yet.

I just had a quick look at the monogram #722 car. It's basically the same kit as the revell but with a different (open top) body. Revell were a bit to ambitious with their gullwing doors, the fit is horrendous. I've had to glue them shut.

Body and engine cover have been gently heated and bent straight in hot water. Cover doesn't close properly, hits on intake manifold. Grrr!!

Very slow progress on this one. Clear coat done, not polished yet. I was going to use hobby design wire wheels. After stripping the plating off the kit wheels and painting, I think I'll stick with those.

30+ year old seat decals didn't want to play nice. I had to butcher the intake manifold to get the engine cover to close.
