This looks as a great result, I like your side project. You've tinted the clear parts, what kind of tint is it? And then you wrote about dilute the maskol, how works this trick? Thank you in advance! 🙂

Thanks mate, you can tint clear parts and create amazing washes with alcohol based inks that come in many colors. They are transparent and work especially well over chrome and other metallics. Some colors have a metallic finish. I use black India ink for a wash quite often, very easy to clean up with isopropyl alcohol. The masking fluid seems to have a mind of its own, and is quite thick and by adding water it will break the surface tension and allow it to flow better. It will ruin a brush, like gum stuck in your hair, so I use a toothpick.

Thanks Tom! You can find inks at an art supply store that has a calligraphy section. I'm thinking about applying black ink to this build, and doing some edge highlighting. It's a little too uniform in color still.

Wow! That ink looks good! Wery interesting technique. Have you tried masking putty? Might be easier to control. I tried real Play doh, but that left oil. Now I have a unopened tin of AK's stuff, that supposedly shouldn't leave residue. I would do a shadow wash first and then consider the need for highlights.

Projects are never quite finished are they BB? You just reminded me of that! ? Like, it's good enough for now, while I work on something else..
I like using masking putty, it's fun! You can see me use it in one of my WW Toons builds. (Panther) You have to form it by hand, or tools though, and sometimes masking fluid is good option for smaller details. check out my Time machine build to see what I mean. I was going to edge highlight this ship like my Prototype X-Wing, but hesitated..

Album info
The TIE silencer was a prototype starfighter that Kylo Ren field tested during the war between the First Order and the Resistance. Kylo Ren, the apprentice of Supreme Leader Snoke, was an expert pilot like his father Han Solo, and grandfather Anakin Skywalker, before him.
