WHIF: Supermarine S.7

November 12, 2018The box... of course!2
November 12, 2018Sprues... hmm... lots of Flash... I wonder if this is an old kit?3
November 12, 2018Cut... glue... lots of sink marks... sanding will be happening.4
November 13, 2018Let’s start by making something that looks like a cockpit.5
November 16, 2018Paint on the cockpit and the second prop scratchbuilt.6
November 16, 2018The fuselage is glued together and extra bits added to the cockpit.7
November 16, 2018Contra props in place... and resting on the floats.8
November 18, 2018So the legs are built, but not attached. The wings are sanded down...and I added a do-dad to the engine block. What’s next?9
November 19, 2018Putty... and sanding... lots of sanding.10
December 18, 2018Sanding done and new panel lines/rivets scribed... all glued together.11
December 21, 2018Painted the whole thing silver and then masked it...12
December 21, 2018Hmmm...13
December 21, 2018I dunno... I’m not quite feeling it. Maybe the blue’s too dark...?14
January 1, 2019Some more masking... hope I didn’t miss a spot!15
January 1, 2019Only a couple of small masking errors. Looking pretty good now.16
January 2, 2019Not sure about the rigging, but after several failed attempts using different materials, I’ll take what I can get.17
January 2, 2019A bit extra around the engine... just because.18
January 4, 2019A close up on the cockpit. Can't really see the decal instrument panel, but I think the scratchbuilt windscreen works better than the kit part. It's thinner at least.19
January 4, 2019Tail painted, but I decided to redo the rigging... it never seems to want to come out the way I envision it, but oh, well.20
January 4, 2019There we are... done.21
