That is looking very good. It is very difficult to paint the spots by hand. Respekt for it.

Thank you Mart 🙂 It's only the "dry brush" technique 😛

When I was still painted by hand. I try many Techniques. But never succeed making good spots by hand. A bad thing for a decoration painter. 🙂 🙂

Thanks mates, you're very kind 🙂 @Bart: after the Italy surrender, the 8 september 1943 was born in my Country 2 air forces. One in the south of Italy (Cobelligerant Air Force) with the Allies, what they had as wing insigna the green-white-red three circles, and one in the north (the A.N.R.) faithful to the old allies, what they had as wing insigna two stylized axes and on the fuselage and tail the italian flag. In august of 1944 Italians of the north , who had a few planes, obtains from Germans new BF 109 (versions G-6 G-10 and G-14), but, with the German intention to cancel the ANR and "englobe" italians in the Luftwaffe, they oblige italians to maintain german insignas. A revolt burst among italians for this, and ANR will continue to exist (until the end of the war) and on the german 109s, they were applied the ANR insigna also.

Now, this looks wonderful Christian, I always intended to make an italian 109, but never got there..... I wonder if you know the really fantastic book by Ferdinando D' Amico & Gabriele Valentini about the 109 in italian service ? If not, I think you should definetily get it. Lots of excellent pictures
and colour profiles in there.
Btw, did you print the decals yourself or are they available somewhere ?

Thank you very much Hanno, I'm very pleased that you like it so far. Yes I have many books about Regia Aeronautica and A.N.R (if you need something in pdf ask me 😉 ) D'Amico and Valentini are two valid historians, very of what we know, is their worth. For the decals I've used the Sky Models decal sheet 72024 "German aircraft in italian service"...bought on ebay 😛

Thanks guys you're very kind. Yes, spots with handbrush are little hard to create, because the risk is that they aren't "convincing". I hope to have made a satisfactory job 🙂

Album info

This is the BF 109 flown by Serg.Magg. Carlo Cavagliano in 1944. He was a pilot of 2° fighter group, first squad of the A.N.R. . As "good luck" he carried on the left side of the fuselage, just rear cockpit the nickname of his girlfriend "Tinin" and on the right side the motto "l'è buna" a sort of "the lucky time".
